OPEN HOUSE: March 6, 2019, 2-5 pm

BEEBOTS & BELLS WORKSHOP: March 8, 2019, 2-5 pm

The greenhouse artlab hosted SWARM collective’s open house and Beebot & Bells Workshop during the first year of the team’s working together.

ABOUT:

SWARM has been disentangling human-nonhuman intra-actions, the impact of human influence on our ecosystems, and how we might forge new ways of being and relating to each other in our current ecological crisis. We warmly invite you to join us in asking critical questions through artmaking about honeybees, such as: How do we make space for listening, for communicating, and fostering relationships during difficult times?  What would it mean to revitalize pre-industrial traditions such as “telling the bees” and to value our non-human familiars as co-beings, or even as teachers?

Alongside artist Helga Jakobson, we will be creating bee nanobots and ceramic bells, in which we will explore the way bees communicate – solely in the key of A.

Join us in art-making, experimentation, and community-building during International Women’s Week at the greenhouse artlab – a space for feminist making and thinking.
